English 11 Book Impressions
For the last week I have been reading the book "Yellow Line". So far I have found this short and simple novel interesting. It really shows us as audiences that two different kind of races of people-abroginal and white can really become close and start seeing eachother in a different way that makes them friends you can call it. This story is about a vince trying to protect his friend from falling in love with an indian boy. Vince lives in a small town that is divided right down the middle, indians on one side, whites on the other. But as the story progresses Vince stops caring about his friend sherry, because he seems to believe he has fallen for an indian girl himself, everyday he thinks about her and just cant stop. If I was in Vince's shoes I too would have left sherry and her indian boyfriend alone, you can't stop love, the heart wants what it wants. I would worry about my problem with the indian girl I was falling in love in, and how my parents would react. I think im pretty similar in a kind of way with Vince, I would try making the natives and whites closer and stop all the beef that is going on. Also Vince didn't tell her parents about the indain girl he likes, i would have done the same thing. This book is recommended for people who like books that are short but keep their eyes glued onto the pages, a page turner.
